20 degrees and 14 mph forecast... it looks like we could be in for a slalom night. It should be a great evening to start the series.

You should definitely join in the racing.
Not only is it more fun/entertaining to be in the thick of it all but it's a sure way to improve your sailing (especially gybes, whether your aim is to simply stay dry or plane out of it at top speed).

By staying dry on the gybes, do you basically mean just getting round them? - as that would be my aim!
