I thought I would add a bit more to the debate as to why surfing gets better coverage and bigger sponsors than windsurfing.

so what are you saying? it gets sponsors because conditions are perfect, or because they put footage out daily?

Well its really just an excuse to put up some great footage. But it has it all from a sponsors and tv point of view: very short bite sized action, understandable activity: drop, bottom turn, tube, out. Extreme skill, extreme danger of death, action close to the beach.
They can put footage out daily because they have clothing sponsors paying for the set up.
