Gave it a go on Saturday. Wasn't masses of wind really but it did feel a whole bunch easier. On the rare occasions that there was a bit of a gust it translated in efficient forward motion rather than just the heavy pull in the arms I was getting with my older sails.
Means I'm going to have to upgrade my whole quiver though - typical! :roll:

Quick update. Sailed the ancient old 5.5 again at the weekend with everything mentioned here in mind and managed to get on a whole lot better than before - so thanks for the tips.
As it happens, after about 6 runs I catapulted and put a massive hole in the sail so that's as good an excuse as any to replace it with something newer!

I'm glad to hear that you got on better this weekend.
Did you manage to find a blue fin then? That was probably the best tip of all.
