Can anyone lend me a 5 metre sail?

41mph- thats a force 8

Even the Hoff would have problems!!

Old Tigers, sensing the end, are at their most fierce.

Force 8

No problem - so long as I've got my lucky hat.

Perhaps i'll rig a 5.7 and a 6.8 - just in case in dies off a little

There's not one F in Hoff - there are two!

Thankfully the forecast has moderated somewhat

31 mph (F6) is still pretty good though

Maybe I won't need a 5 metre

I think the BBC site lists the maximum wind speeds and according to other sites the wind will be strongest in the early hours of the day/morning, so the afternoon may be not so strong so you may get to use your 6.8 afterall.

There I was on Saturday expecting not to sail because it would be much too scary and ended up not sailing because it was hardly worth the effort. Well actually because the long faces of all those windhunters who had turned up expecting more, kinda dampened the enthusiasm in the clubhouse a bit. There was probably still more than enough wind to throw me into the drink a few times. Still, as far as I was concerned it was the same result in the end, so can't really complain.
