Kiter breaks 50 knots over 500m was created by mike g
A kitesurfer clocked 50.9 knots over 500m yesterday. It was a GPS recording (as opposed to a start and finish gate with video timing) so it doesn't beat Finian Maynard's official record but it does prove that it can be done by a kitesurfer on the right day. Hopefully the guys at Southend can break the 50 knot barrier (with official timing) before it goes to a kite.

Congratulations must go to Tilmann though. Getting dragged along at that speed takes balls!
