| Only recently do we have the luxury of handhels GPS units. In recent times they have grown in popularity and sites such as GPS Speedsurfinghave only helped that. This has made it easy for us to measure our speed and compete against ourselves.However, wehaven't always had it so easy. The early speed competitions required a team on the shore with stopwatches measuring a sailor between two points.
