www.windsurfworldcup.de | Westerland (25.09.11). Zweiter Wettkampftag beim Reno Windsurf World Cup Sylt, aber das schöne Wetter vertrieb am Sonntag den Wind. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein und blauem Himmel sahen die zahlreichen Besucher keine offiziellen Wettfahrten, dafür zeigte sich ein schwergewichtiger Gast am Himmel. Der A380, das Flaggschiff der Lufthansa, stattete um 11 und um 14 Uhr dem größten Windsurf-Event der Welt einen Besuch ab. Majestätisch flog der Airbus im Tiefflug über das Veranstaltungsgelände und winkte den Zuschauern zum Abschied mit einem Wackeln der Tragflächen zu. Um 16 Uhr wurde es auf dem Wasser ernst. Aufgrund der Windsituation wurde spontan eine neue offizielle Disziplin in das Programm aufgenommen. Bei der Reno Windsurf World Cup Tow in-Freestyle-Session bewiesen die Aktiven, dass sie auch ohne Wind ein Feuerwerk an Kunststücken zünden können. Die Brett-Akrobaten wurden per Seil von einem Jet-Ski gezogen, ließen bei Höchstgeschwindigkeit los und schraubten sich dann für ihre spektakulären Tricks in die Luft. Der vierfache Weltmeister Jose „Gollito" Estredo aus Venezuela begeisterte die Wettkampfrichter und das Publikum mit perfekten Sprüngen und Rotationen und siegte im Finale mit der Höchstpunktzahl von 30 Zählern. Zweiter wurde der neue belgische Freestyle-Champion Steven van Broeckhoven, auf dem dritten Rang landete „Tonky" Frans aus Bonaire. Philip Köster thinks the spot at Klitmoller is great! It's perfect for both wave riding and jumps. He is going all in this year - he wants to win! He is training to do doubles and triples - and just trying new things. He is feeling the pressure a bit this year, but he is trying to keep focus and relax - and with a place like Klitmoller, and all the cool people here, it's going good!

Kai Lenny is really looking forward to sailing at this years KIA @coldhawaii PWA World Cup. He is excited to be back in Klitmoller and he is hoping that the conditions will top this year, since everyone is riding even better now - which will give people a great show!

Fernández is stoked about the super forecast. He brought 5 boards with him, to be prepared for every weather condition - including the single finn custom board, that he used last year! He has been in Klitmoller for the last 2 weeks, to get a feel for the weather and the conditions, and is ready for the first heat!

Well i've had it a while but i haven't been home to give it a go.. so i took it up the wood a minute ago. The nippers up the road have a bulit a few jumps and a few drop offs... this was the first one... just one problem i forgot to put some air in the shocks!!! oooopps.. fully bottomed it out... then straight into a bank.. no run off!!! haha.. managed to jump off though!
