Today, September 14 is the first day of the PWA Wave Worldcup at Klitmøller in Denmark. From the 14th to 20th September some of the world’s best wave windsurfers will return to action for their third wave event of the season at Klitmøller, Denmark. 

Klitmøller itself is located in Northern Jutland, just ten kilometres southwest of Hanstholm. What once was a quaint little fishing village is now being heralded as one of the wave sailing gems of Europe. Its reputation is such that, Klitmøller, is now more commonly known as Cold Hawaii, due to the fact that it bares the brunt of the biggest storms in Northern Europe. Although this makes life incredibly tough for the fisherman, it is also the prime reason for Cold Hawaii’s growing reputation within the windsurfing, and surfing, world. From perfect stunt ramps to powerful, gnarly, waves Cold Hawaii provides the perfect platform for the world’s most radical sailors to showcase exactly what they are capable of. 

As always the trials will need to be concluded before the start of the official single elimination and there will currently be ten sailors battling it out for the remaining places in the main draw: Arthur Arutkin, Mads Bjorna Nielsen, Gustav Haggstrom, Federico Morisio, Tuomo Naalisvaara, Martin Ovsik, Pablo Ramirez, Maciek Rutkowski, Markus Rydberg and Thomas Svensson.

*Winner advances into main event – 2nd places will then sail a separate heat with the winner advancing into the main event.
