This promo features the very first sneak peak at our upcoming project. The project have been crafted trough a close collaboration with OFSK(Norwegian Parachute Organization). We have used a combination of dslrs and gopro. The whole philosophy is that we use dslrs to the limit of what we can do with those cameras and then turn to gopros when we for instance are talking about mounting them to a plane and such.

This wasn't a project we just randomly started, but a project that had been planed for almost a year. We havent sat a date of release just yet, but we are talking early-late fall 2013.

The BIGGEST STORM of the last 2 decades!

I've been windsurfing the last 25 years, but never sailed in these rough and windy conditions before.
Force 11 (Beaufort) / [60KNOTS] at its max during this session.
What can you expect to see? Out of control, Crashing hard, flying high.. but most of all Pure joy and Adrenaline! & the whole playground to myself. :-)

Pátzcuaro en Michoacán, México, es una pequeña ciudad donde los trazos coloniales e indígenas coexisten ante las miradas desprevenidas de los turistas. Junto al santuario de la Virgen de Guadalupe se reúnen cada viernes en la mañana las comunidades indígenas para su tradicional trueque, una costumbre prehispánica que consiste en que cada quien ofrece sus propios productos a cambio de lo que los otros ofrecen: tortillas, maíz, pescado, verduras, frutas, flores, tamales... Década tras década, generación tras generación, los Purepechas llegan hasta ese lugar de encuentro cargados de sus cosechas, sus viandas frescas y artesanías. A Pátzcuaro llega un extranjero para interpelarlos, para participar del trueque, entender la naturaleza de su tradición y a cambio ofrecer lo que trae: su perspectiva de extranjero, su mirada de fotógrafo. Lo que viene a intercambiar el extraño, el outsider, es su asombro. Y lo que los Purepechas van a recibir es el retratro de su propia belleza.

Usually the first event of the world tour in Pozo, Gran Canaria, offers very strong winds and some fun waves for the riders to start their season.
But for the first time in 25 years, the wind barely showed up and the waves were just not there at all!
After a week waiting for the conditions, our french riders finally got to sail a little bit, but it wasn't enough to start an official competition...
Now Antoine Martin, Thomas Traversa, Jules & Justin Denel will be heading to the island of Tenerife in August to really start their 2013 World Cup campaign, hopefully with some good conditions this time!

This was filmed while I was in Oregon for the AWT Pistol river wave bash. We went there a few days in advance with the intention of filming but we ended up only getting two days of wind. This one and the day of the contest which wasn't really worth filming. All of this was filmed during one session at Cape Sebestian. Nothing amazing, just a fun mellow session. I'd love to sail the Cape when it's bigger though, it must be pretty epic.
