The IFCA Slalom World Championship took place from June 11th till 17th in Texel. Since 6 years this event came back to the Netherlands after having amazinge xperiences with this spot. This Championship had it all, from medium to flat, waves and very windy conditions. Friday was showing one of the most difficult conditions with  meter high waves made it almost impossible to sail straight. The wind wasn’t really strong but due to the super difficult conditions the riders were forced to use our smallest registered stuff: 7.0 and medium board. In the end the crew managed to squeeze out 3 full eliminations – the waves were rolling 700m out of the coast!!

Fanatic´s Jordy Vonk finished with a great 3rd place – well done! This is already the 4th podium in 5 events this year!

Jordy: “I am happy to finish 3rd at the 2017 IFCA World Championship. It would have been amazing to take the title in my own country but Ethan Westera showed some amazing racing and deserved to be the champ! 2017 is going good so far and I will give all the best to continue this way, thanks for all the support!!
